Stop the Clock

The closer it gets to the first day of kindergarten for my daughter, the more I think about how time has gone by so fast. The first 5 years of her life are over and she is about to start a new chapter of her life. I really thought I had a handle on my emotions but that doesn't seem to be the case. As the day grows nearer, the more and more I find my emotions are getting the best of me. I also find myself just staring at her and watching her....do everything. It is so hard to believe how much she has grown and how time will go even faster now. I want to capture each moment in my mind forever.

During my unintentional blog break this week (not feeling great, kind of run down) I was looking through some pictures and came across this picture of my daughter. This was the day of her 5th birthday party. She was helping me decorate her birthday cake...more correctly....birthday Cupcake! She has a love of cupcakes just like me!

My lesson here is ....If I can't make the clock stop I have to be sure I capture everything with photos. I need to attach my camera to myself so I never leave home without it!

Have a great Thursday!

Looking for some good ideas

Being a busy Mom, I am always looking for quick and easy meals that my daughter will eat. I found a very easy recipe for a strawberry roll up.

1 Wrap (8 inches)
Strawberry cream cheese
Strawberries, sliced

Spread the cream cheese on the wrap and cover with strawberries and roll up. Sounds good, huh?!?

My daughter is such a picky eater I had high hopes for this recipe. So Allison helped me make it and she was excited to eat it. I cut it in half and and handed it to her. She takes a bite and.....I got a huge smile and..."Mommy, can we make this again?" And I said "Sure!" She sits down at the table with her plate and takes another bite.....wait for it..."Mommy, I don't really like this."

SHOCKING!

Another idea shot down. I am desperate to find meals for an extremely picky eater.

Help! Anyone have a good idea to try?

Here is a picture of her eating her favorite meal....Chicken Fingers!! She was very proud of herself being able to use the knife and cut it up herself.

Have a great Thursday!

What fun!

Recently my daughter was invited to a birthday party for one of her best friends, Kaleb. At first I was hesitant because it was indoor go carting....for 5 year olds??? But then I looked into it and we couldn't miss this party. They brought out about 15 Jeeps and cars just their size. It was adorable. At first Allison was reluctant but it did not take long for her to get in her groove. She went around and around by her self and the then with a younger passenger.

She had a blast and didn't want to get out of the car!

After they all got to ride around the track for close to an hour....it was time for pizza, cake and ice cream. While the were eating, all the cars were brought in to the party room. The kids got to ride...or more specifically...crash into each other like bumper cars.
As I watched her in the car....her is one picture which seemed like a glimpse into the future....yikes!

Lately it seems like I am getting more chances to see how fast she is growing up and what I have ahead of me....and it is really scary! It remember myself all too well. Good times are ahead for sure!

Have a great Wednesday!

"Quote of the week"

Sometimes the funniest things come out of my 5 year old daughter's mouth. Last Sunday she spent the day with her grandparents. They were driving through town and my father-in-law said to Allison, "Wow, Allison, look at all the people." And Allison responds...."Grampy, I don't know why you think I would be interested in that." She seemed shocked that anyone would think people watching would be fun. (I personally get quite a kick out of it) My in-laws are still getting a chuckle out of her saying that and will for quite some time. You never know what will come out of little ones mouth's....so keep an ear out and listen to how much they take in from what you say each day! I Love it!!

Here is a quick pic from her golf lesson last weekend!
